It could be any number of reasons. Sometimes there are electrical faults that cause the control panel or interval timer to stop working, while in other cases there can be issues with how far away the ignition flame is from the thermocouple that controls the heater.
Yes, in many cases it’s possible to re-route and even extend an existing gas line to another part of your home or yard. It’s a common part of installation for backyard fire pits that are positioned closer to the center of a yard or even further out.
It depends on the municipality you’re in. In The City of Vancouver, for example, you do need a permit before you can install a fire pit or patio heater with a fixed gas line, whereas The City of Surrey doesn’t require a permit as long as you’re using a natural gas ULC/CSA-approved device. Our gas fitters will let you know if you need one and help you get a permit.
Get more out of your backyard space without the added fire risk or soot cleanup.
